Thank You from Outreach in Refugee Camps — Lebanon

null

Thanks to your financial support, the mission grant for Outreach in Refugee Camps — Lebanon has been paid.  This grant for Middle East Lutheran Ministry (MELM) from Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM) for $72,000 will turn around the cycle of poverty and provide assistance to women and children through sharing with them the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Pictured at right is Middle East Lutheran Ministries staff member Katia Sahyouni. Katia will be a Mites in Action speaker at the upcoming LWML Convention in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she will share stories of distributing relief materials from LHM and LWML in the refugee camps. Mission Grant Featured for the Month of February

nullThe Lutheran Families Services (LFS) centers will continue to move forward with its mission to build and strengthen individuals, family, and the community beginning with pregnant mothers, infants, and children under the age of five. LFS has 29 centers from Council Bluffs, Iowa, to North Platt, Nebraska. They use an incentive-based combination of programming including parenting classes, support groups, therapy, and case management, reducing the risk of child abuse and neglect. While teaching the parent(s) parenting skills, it will help the child to feel secure, nurtured, and able to succeed in learning and in life.
