The Feast of the Holy Trinity
[Jesus said,] “Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death” (John 8:51).
There are many people who are outright afraid of death. They don’t want to think about it, don’t want to talk about it, and will do anything they can to put it off as long as possible. This may be why sitting down to come up with a will or a charitable gift plan can be hard for people to even begin. The joy for the Christian, however, is that Jesus promises we shall never taste death. Death for us is but a transition from the blessings of this life to the joys of the eternal kingdom. Such is the hope we wish all people had as they come face to face with what is inevitable for all of us. In their efforts to “proclaim Christ,” the LWML supports missionaries throughout the world who seek to proclaim this hope to people who still sit in the fear of death. Your charitable contribution to the LWML through Gifts of Love is a wonderful way to share this hope with others and leave a blessing for this work to carry on for generations to come.

The Day of Pentecost
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid (John 14:27).
Our Lord has come to accomplish our salvation, which He has won by His death and resurrection. This is a done deal for us. What Jesus leaves behind for us until He comes again to bring us home in the resurrection on the Last Day is His Spirit, and as He says here, His peace. His peace is eternal, and is something that gives us comfort through the struggles of this life, and hope in the life to come. When considering how to care for those we love, and for the organizations that are dear to us in this life, one of the things we can do is include a Christian Preamble in our will. This is a way to bear witness to your faith in Christ to your family, and to leave them with the peace in knowing that things are in order in terms of worldly things. More importantly, it is a witness things are in order in terms of eternity so they know you have the peace of heaven. Our Gifts of Love counselors can help you with this preamble so that the peace of Christ may be proclaimed through you to your loved ones, leaving them with a sense of peace in Him.

The Seventh Sunday of Easter
[Jesus said,] “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us” (John 17:20–21a).
This is both a humbling duty and a joyful task and promise our Lord gives through this prayer to His Father. Jesus is going to use His faithful people to confess Him to the world, and His promise is that He prays for those who believe by His Word and are made one with the Father. Throughout our life, we are given opportunities to speak and live the Word. Through Gifts of Love, we also have an opportunity to share Jesus’ Word after our life on earth is ended. With a Christian Preamble, we can share our faith with our loved ones, and in considering a charitable gift to LWML, we know that Christ will be proclaimed through missionaries around the world. We pray that these kinds of opportunities are blessed, and we are assured that Jesus is praying for them too, and He is drawing people to Himself so that we will all stand before the Father in eternity, one with Him and the Son forever.

The Sixth Sunday of Easter
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world (John 16:33).
One of the blessings of Christ’s death and resurrection is the peace that comes to us. When we no longer have to worry about suffering judgment for our sin, and when even the greatest enemy of death has been overthrown, we can have a divine peace which calms our hearts. Troubles will still come our way, but they will never have their way with us eternally. Christ has won the victory for us and will bring us to the peace of heaven! When considering what will happen to our assets when we are brought home to heaven, there can be a sense of peace that comes knowing everything is in order — our family is cared for and a charitable plan has been established to support organizations that are dear to us. The LWML has established Gifts of Love (GOL) as a ministry to support our work for the next generation. Tribulation will not get easier over time in our world, and so to proclaim peace in Christ will always be needed. Contact one of our Gift Planning Counselors so that you might have peace in knowing your earthly affairs are in order. Prayerfully consider a charitable gift to LWML so many more may come to know the peace which only Christ can give.

The Fifth Sunday of Easter
So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you (John 16:22).
In this season where we continue to celebrate the resurrection and the life we have been given by God, it may seem like a real downer to consider our mortality and what will become of the blessings God has given us in this world. However, we know the joy that is ours as we are welcomed into the kingdom of God, and as Jesus says, no one can take that from us. His resurrection has cut through the sorrow of this world to fill us with His divine, eternal life. This is a joy we can share with our family and through organizations that are all about sharing this truth with the world. Through Gifts of Love, our Gift Planning Counselors can help you determine how best to bless your family, but also how you can also confess your faith and share your unending joy with others. Eternal joy is yours in Christ Jesus! Prayerfully consider how that joy might continue to overflow into the lives of others through Gifts of Love that through the Gospel, the life of Christ may be given to all.

The Fourth Sunday of Easter
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand (John 10:28).
The season of Easter is filled with comfort after comfort for the Christian. Not only does our Lord promise to give eternal life to all His people, but also assures us that we shall not be taken out of that life by anything. We are safely in His hands now and always. We also know that our Lord’s hands are quite large — there’s room for more! Through your prayerful support and planning through Gifts of Love (GOL), you can partner in the proclamation of Christ as the LWML supports missions and missionaries around the world. Through preaching, teaching, and works of mercy, the life of Christ is shared, and the life He gives fills the hearts of His people. Many more will then know the security of being held in Jesus’ hands and the joy of the eternal life Christ has won for us by the power of His resurrection. Please consider how you might partner with us now, or with a future charitable contribution, that the life of Christ may continue to be proclaimed into all the earth.

The Third Sunday of Easter
[Jesus] said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in, because of the quantity of fish (John 21:6).
The disciples toiled all night and caught nothing. At Jesus’ instruction, however, the catch was more than they could haul into the boat. Such is the way that Jesus always seems to work — He takes our meager attempts at success and turns them into overflowing blessings. In a way, this has been the history of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League as we have sought faithfully to use humble mite offerings and watch as Christ powerfully used them to further His mission to the nations. Gifts of Love (GOL) is a ministry that seeks to support the work of LWML for generations to come. Going through the gift planning process with one of our Gift Planning Counselors, you might be surprised at just how much God has blessed you over the years, and you will discover ways you can leave a blessing for many more to hear the Good News of Jesus. Whether it is a large or small gift, Christ will use it to pour out the abundance of His blessings upon His people so that all may come to the joy of the resurrection.
