Fragrant Sacrifices and Offerings

LWML Sunday 2014

The first Sunday in October is traditionally set aside for the observation of LWML Sunday, but it may be celebrated at any time. The materials, available for download below, have been designed to help with your congregation’s worship and celebration of LWML Sunday 2014. The cover letter is filled with information and ideas to help you plan.

The LWML thanks God for The Rev. Dr. Victor Belton, author of this year’s materials. He was proclaimer for the Pittsburgh Convention Sunday worship service. He and his wife Wenona live in Georgia, where he is pastor of Peace Lutheran Church in Decatur. Based on Ephesians 5:2, the theme he has chosen for the 2014 LWML Sunday celebration is “Fragrant Sacrifices and Offerings.”

NEW THIS YEAR! An envelope containing a cover letter, an order form, a 2015 Des Moines Convention flyer, and a new LWML bookmark will be mailed to each congregation in June, in lieu of the packet that has been mailed in past years. Resources that were available on a CD in past years are available here! The resources below are immediately available for download. If you have any questions, please call the LWML office at 1-800-252-5965. You may also choose to order pre-printed bulletins, as in the past years. Just download the order form and fill it out!

LWML Presidents' video

At each LWML District Convention, Executive Committee Representatives have shown a wonderful video of our current LWML President Kay Kreklau and five Past LWML Presidents, along with comments from two additional Past Presidents. They are sharing their stories, and their passion for the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. That video is now available in an extended version and can be used for LWML Sunday activities and at all events.
