What's New on the LWML Website?

nullYOUth in Mission is now featured on the LWML website. The Committee on Young Women is responsible for the oversite of the LWML YOUth in Mission formerly known as Teen LWML. Their objective is to suggest ideas on how to make YOUth feel as though they are valued members of the body of Christ and the LWML, connect YOUth, provide ideas for YOUth in Mission activities that encompass multiple generations, and equip mentors with resources to engage youth in opportunities for spiritual growth, mission, and service. November Featured Mission Grant

null

Each month one grant is featured on the LWML website with a Mission Power Poster, Devotion, Bulletin Bytes, Prayer Guide, and Story. November’s resource feature is Training Teachers and Leaders. This grant will assist the global Lutheran churches in equipping those who seek advanced theological training. These students will return to their homeland and train countless others to proclaim Jesus boldly. Very few of these church bodies are able to support the cost of sending to The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod the best men and women that they have for graduate study. The graduate school of Concordia Seminary St. Louis is thankful for its increased opportunity to provide training of International Confessional Lutheran teachers and leaders for informed and thoughtful service in the church in the world today.

Check out the LWML website for more information on this grant.

LWML Participating in the 2017 Tournament of Roses Parade

nullLWML President Patti Ross will participate in the upcoming Tournament of Roses Parade as a rider on the Lutheran Hour Ministries float. The float will portray Christ Jesus as the Founder and Perfector of our faith. It will recall a significant person: Dr. Martin Luther, who took a major step of faith in the Reformation 500 years ago. The float will carry living examples of Gospel proclaimers in the appearances of former Speaker Dr. Dale Meyer, Speaker Emeritus Dr. Ken Klaus, and Rev. Dr. Gregory Seltz, current Speaker of The Lutheran Hour.

The float will salute the 100th anniversary of the International Lutheran Laymen’s League, which led the way in launching The Lutheran Hour in 1930. Additionally, the float will recognize LWML’s 75th Anniversary. You can purchase merchandise to support the float at: http://petalpushers.donorshops.com/products/pp.php
