Giving Thanks
As we head into this week of celebrating the holiday of Thanksgiving, be encouraged in overflowing love for our Lord at all times.
Thank God, not only for obvious blessings, but also for life’s unexpected situations. Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord, my soul. I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live (Psalm 146:1–2 NIV).
The popular saying, “An Attitude of Gratitude” emphasizes thanking God, even in the midst of adversity. Give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:18 NIV).
During this holiday season of giving thanks and sharing joy, check out the Mustard Seeds Devotions in the LWML Store for ways to spread that joy with those around you, especially Living in Joy Item #: LWML40202 On sale now for $1.75.

Veterans: Skilled, Experienced, and Privileged to Serve
November 11th is Veteran’s Day and we are privileged to honor all those who have served in the United States military. These women and men have sacrificed for our freedom, trained for our protection, and served for our peace of mind. We thank God for each of them.
In the LWML, a veteran is a woman who has served the Lord in many ways and can mentor others by sharing her passion for serving God, her love of sharing Christ’s message with the nations, and her compassion for His people. Are you an LWML veteran? Will you share your experiences and passions with other women? Volunteer to lead a Bible study, chair a servant event for your church, or take a new friend to coffee and tell her about the vision and mission of the LWML. God has gifted you with talents and experiences. Share them with others today!
Contact me with any questions or comments at depor@lwml.org and together we will serve and share Jesus!

It's Still All About Jesus
A trip to Germany. It was never on my radar but when the opportunity arose I stepped out of my comfort zone and packed my bags. Visiting the sites of Martin Luther’s life was incredible. The stories told to me over the years came to life. Real places, real people, real courage.
Anniversaries abound in the next twelve months. Lutheran Hour Ministries is celebrating 100 years of God’s blessings. LWML will celebrate 75 years in about eight months. Next year at this time we will celebrate the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther posting 95 theses to the door of a Wittenburg Church. Each a reason to celebrate but what we really celebrate is that “It’s Still All About Jesus”.
Our forefathers stood firm and kept the focus on God’s Word. Jesus is the reason for our celebrations. It’s a great opening for conversations in our communities. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life” John 3:16.
Check out www.lwml.org/75 for ways to celebrate and share.
May all who come behind us find us faithful.

Bible Margins and Book Marks
Bible journaling appears to be quite popular these days — but it is really an ancient practice called “marginalia” — which is putting words, markings, or drawings in the blank areas around the text of a book. Perhaps you are in the habit of writing in the margins of your Bible. If you have purchased a Journaling Bible and want to add some art to the pages, all our coloring resources are Scripture based, so you can add color while reflecting on God’s Word and place it next to that section.
If journaling is not for you, the narrow format works well as a bookmark. Click here for FREE coloring resources. Include one with a book as a holiday gift or give a printed page and some colored pencils to a student as encouragement to be in the Word!

What's Your Age?
What’s your age? Perhaps this question is one most of us would rather not answer. However, it’s said that eventually all of us will reach a time in our life when we stop trying to cover up our age, and start bragging about it.
Guess what, the LWML soon turns 75 years young. We don’t need to think about wanting to turn back the clock. We can just start bragging about all the blessings God has provided through its 75 year existence.
Let’s brag about all the blessings of fellowship with members with whom we’ve shared Bible studies and devotions. Women who kept the dream alive of being dedicated to the mission arm of our Lutheran Church─Missouri Synod by small boxes filled with coins and help support mission work locally and around the world. We can brag how God has mightily blessed that Mite Box and the foundation of the LWML. Let’s keep bragging!
Happy 75th Birthday LWML.
